This book is simply amazing. It has shed so much light on my relationship with the concept of Freedom. This includes work within my artistic identity and career path. Fromm is an amazing gift to the human race. His theories and voice are genuine and liberating. This is a book that I will reference and return to for a lifetime. It is an essential text for my home library.

Escape from Freedom

Fromm's book gives a great insight into the 'authoritarian personality,' first developed by Fromm's 'Fascist-scale' or as it is better known the 'F-scale.' This scale later became the center piece for Adorno's book 'The Authoritarian Personality'. Fromm's "main thesis concerns the twofold aspect of freedom: on the one hand freedom means the liberation from those 'primary bonds' which tied man to nature or which, in the clan or in the feudal society, tied him to the authorities of society and to his fellow men from whom he is not yet set apart as an 'individual.' Such 'freedom from' is not as yet a positive freedom ('freedom to'). Positive freedom, according to Fromm, 'is identical with the full realization of the individual's potentialities, together with his ability to live actively and spontaneously'" - Ernest G. Schachtel, Studies in Philosophy and Social Science (vol. 9 - 1941). According to Schachtel, Fromm's 'Escape from Freedom' is perhaps the most important contribution to the description and analysis of automaton conformity. It is a well written book, accessible to all.

In Through the Out Door tab

This is an updated version of a previously released "Authentic Guitar TAB" folio from the 1990's (and still available). I now have both. Without analyzing every measure of every song, the transcriptions appear to be exactly the same. I thought with the claim of new incites from Page himself, there would be differences. The new "platinum" version is much easier to read than the tiny print of the former. While prices vary day-to-day on Amazon, the new version usually goes for about $5 less. My main gripe is the guitar arrangement of the synth solo in "All Of My Love", has been omitted in the platinum version.

Still a pretty good book. Alfred is the only company I know of, which has published the complete LZ studio catalogue for guitar.

Clear well done tab. I would recommend this along with the other Alfred Zep transcriptions. Buy the box set of first 5 albums and save money. Some retailers were selling it for around $30. That's $6 a book. What a deal.

The author really understand things from a reader's perspective about how some well intended books end up on the shelf. Well not this book for sure! It's precise and easy to practice.

The book itself is masterfully presented with the techniques clearly elaborated and even has a worksheet for you to practice. Having this book will give you a clear and precise map that you can use to cultivate and practice fearlessness. I have no doubt if you apply the content of the book to your own practice, the benefit will be incredible!!
The book gets 5 stars because of its practical exercises.

Like a fart in the wind

I've always wanted to be a published writer, but something in my past held me back.

I've done journaling and other writing that I could keep to myself. But I want to be published and when I've sat down to write, I always found something to do.

Until now...
After reading and doing the exercises in this book, the ability to sit down to write for publication is gone.

To quote Warden Norton from the movie, Shawshank Redemption, upon finding out that Andy Defresne had mysteriously escaped, "He just disappeared! Like a fart in the wind!"

That is how I feel right now about my fear of writing, they have practically disappeared. I am doing the exercises because I have faith that my fear will be completely gone in time.

As proof, I've never written a review for any book before.

Get the book. Do the exercises. You won't believe how much better you'll feel.

A Self-Confidence Masterpiece

One of the best self-confidence books I've ever read.

For someone who's obviously into NLP and probably hypnosis, the author never uses those two terms at all. His method for uncovering self-sabotaging beliefs has to be seen to be believed. And it's totally original, as far as I know. This is one of the great ones. Well done!
