Eva L. Essa is a professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she has been on the faculty since 1971. The author of several books, Ms. Essa has been engaged in writing and research, published in various professional journals, and has been involved with the National Child Development Associate Program since its inception.

I work with preschoolers who exhibit a variety of handicaps: autism, behavioral disorders, delayed language , etc. This book is a great resource to use when dealing with parents and outside agencies and preschools.

excellent for ALL ages

This book is a GREAT guide for dealing with people of ALL ages in many settings including the business office. It was an essential tool during my career as a family and consumer science agent. Now, it is useful in dealing with members of my personal family. Of course, when using the techniques outlined in the book with older individuals particularly adults, one transfers the objects and settings to the appropriate age level/specifics.
