Okay, read the description above...yes, this book is hot. It was also fun and entertaining. Brad and Cole have a long history to their friendship, but it is not a friendship that's infallible. In fact, there is a five year window in time where they didn't speak. The prologue opens with the scene that changes that, although the bulk of the book takes place three years later.
The issue is that both men know what it's like to be without their best friend and they don't want to risk that again, especially Cole. The two men are very different from one another. Cole is gay, but he's very introverted and reserved. Brad is straight and is always the life of the party. They have an easy friendship after so many years, but that doesn't change the fact that there are underlying issues, especially for Cole. He loves Brad, but refuses to risk their friendship again.
Brad is marrying the daughter of the CEO of the company he works for. It's not a love match...it's just a good match, but leading up to the wedding, he's beginning to wonder if he's made a big mistake especially as he watches Cole more and more. In high school, he was bi-curious, but that was it. When Cole hit on him 8 years ago, Brad shut him down quickly and that caused the huge rift in their friendship. But things begin to escalate between the two of them as they participate in the wedding events leading up to the big day, until sexual tension overflows during the bachelor party.
I liked the way that the book played out. There was a ton of sexual tension, but underneath all that is two guys who truly love each other. They have deep feelings there that could only come from so many years of friendship and that worked for me. Even though Brad is engaged and I usually hate cheating stories, that side of this one worked for me too. (It probably helped that we never really saw his fiance within the book to get attached to her.)
Overall, I definitely enjoyed this one.

Great, Sexy Short Story

I really enjoyed this story. It's well-written and I thought River Jaymes did an excellent job of fleshing out the characters in a short period of time. Brad and Cole were completely different in personality and approach to life--Cole is openly gay and serious, Brad is "bi-curious" and playful. They have been friends for years and quietly attracted to each other for just as long. But it takes Brad's impending nuptials to his boss's daughter to bring that simmering attraction to a boiling point. The moments of physical intimacy built over the story and were realistic and passionate. And best of all, their other friends were not only accepting of their relationship, they seemed to expect it even before Brad and Cole did.
Definitely worth the read.

Loved It!!!

River Jaymes did an excellent job telling a complete, fulfilling love story in the short span of a novella. The hot sex was an added bonus! I loved this story and highly recommend it!
