Some annoying and consistent typos

Comments specific to Kindle edition: Some annoying and consistent typos, for example on page 52 the text reads, "fie link between language development and reading is clear. Poor language development explains why so many children identiThed with language impairments during their preschool years are identiThed later with learning disabilities during their school years". Errors haven't affected my ability to understand the text, but do slow you down when you are reading. On the plus, the navigation and additional features are great: able to go to specific page from main menu, add key terms to a flashcards deck, pull up a glossary for key terms on a given page etc.
Comments on content and organization: Text was assigned for a Master's level class. Overall feels a bit simplified, and occasionally verges of feeling dumbed down. On the plus, for a initial introduction to the subject is well written, well formatted, and provides a comprehensive introduction.
Last thing I'm not cray about it that it feels like it's written by people without disabilities with the intended audience of people who do not have disabilities. I've been far more intellectually and emotionally challenged by conversations with disabled friends and articles I've read via their posts. The text is largely missing the voice of those who have disabilities themselves, and doesn't do much to challenge the unconscious perceptions and
assumptions I have as able-bodied person

Great updates: Economical pricing

As a college instructor who has been using Deborah Deutsch Smith's textbooks for almost a decade, I was happy to see that this new version of the text brought down the price a bit, included an e-text with the student value edition, and condensed the sometimes wordy chapters to the essentials. I have many non-traditional students who are busy working full-time as teachers and raising families. Economy and keeping to the essentials is important to them. This version also expanded from previous editions in that it has added a new chapter on high quality education, responsive instruction, and multi-tiered frameworks. This includes the topics of bullying and anti-bullying programs, dropout prevention, universal design for learning principles, differentiated instruction, progress monitoring steps, response to intervention, and multi-tiered frameworks for academic and school-wide behavior management. At the end of each chapter are YouTube video suggestions and internet links to resources. I always shop around and see what other textbooks are available. I always come back to Deborah Deutsch Smith. I find the many graphics and tables useful for quick assimilation of information. Those critical of the costs need to shop around and see what the other textbooks are costing these days. With this version you are getting both a paper and electronic version that has color and videos in it. The most important content has been preserved, updated, and condensed.The cost has come down. I highly recommend this textbook.
