"Freedoms Gained Can Be Easily Lost"

I just finished reading the "The Impact of Slavery on the Education of Blacks in Orange County, North Carolina 1619 - 1970", and am impressed with the fact that Mrs. Moore documented the lives, struggles, and pioneering efforts of the heroes during a critical point in American History, which would have otherwise remained unknown to the larger public. Her focus on North Carolina's Black Leaders, the role that education played in their lives, and the role that these leaders played in the educating generations of Black People is one that we need in today's educational reality. Her epilogue is powerful pages 203-208 is thoughtful and empowering.
She also leaves the readers to consider the future as Education of All children continues to be a Civil Rights issue.
